Today’s young people are entering the workforce at a time of unprecedented challenges.
Even before the pandemic, competition for entry-level roles was fierce. Degrees no longer guaranteed stable career pathways, and graduates were often expected to have 3–4 years of experience just to qualify for an entry level role. When the pandemic hit, early-career opportunities slowed further, leaving many young workers struggling to find meaningful employment.

Adding to the challenge, 1 in 6 hiring managers report reluctance to hire Gen Z, citing concerns that they are “not prepared” for the workplace. Meanwhile, the rapid rise of AI and automation is replacing many traditional entry-level roles, making it even harder for young professionals to gain the first steps in their careers.
The result is not a lack of talent, motivation, or ambition—it’s a system that places unrealistic expectations on the youngest generation while reducing the opportunities available to meet them.

At Own Your Voice Academy, we believe youth should be empowered and build a strong foundation to advance in their careers. We act as a bridge, closing the gap between academic theory and practical work experience.
From day one, participants undertake hands-on, multi-disciplinary projects projects that equip them with both hard and soft skills, leadership abilities, and the confidence to thrive in the workplace.

How We Create Opportunity

Sport events & sustainability: Youth tackle the environmental impact of tournaments, learning how to reduce waste, optimize resource use, and design eco-friendly solutions—leveraging AI and data analytics to measure impact and improve energy efficiency

Healthcare & climate challenges: Participants gain applied knowledge in climate-related health risks, sustainable operations, and community resilience—using data-driven approaches to design effective interventions and prepare for emerging roles in health systems and public health.

Career skills & internship program: Through experiential projects, hackathons, and our structured internship program, youth gain practical work experience, develop teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills, and build a resume that positions them for success—while learning to apply AI and data analytics tools to solve environmental challenges in sports and healthcare.

Own Your Voice Academy is an early-stage startup on a mission to empower youth, tackle sustainability challenges, and prepare the next generation for meaningful careers. As a young organization, we are building programs from the ground up—but to grow and sustain our impact, we need your support.

Your contribution will help cover essential operational costs, including program development, tools and resources, and stipends for our nine interns, whose hands-on work is critical not only for delivering our programs but also for developing our consulting package. This package will allow us to offer structured solutions to organizations in sustainability, sport, and healthcare—extending the impact of our work beyond individual participants.
