​ It all began with a film.
During one quiet evening in 2016, Sabrina De Angelis (founder) sat down to watch Before the Flood, expecting a documentary - what she didn't expect was a deep personal awakening. As the scenes unfolded from melting glaciers to flooded streets and food crises, something ignited deep within her: A sense of responsibility for the consumer choices we make. It was no longer about being informed with facts and figures - it was about people, voices, choices, and action.

That night planted a seed.

With an academic background in international relations and environmental strategy, Sabrina is equipped with a deep understanding of global systems and the data & science behind climate change. Nonetheless, she recognises that data alone doesn't drive change. People do. She realised that people need to be inspired to make a change. Not Pressured. Most importantly, her mission goes beyond research or policy, it is about giving people the tools and confidence to lead in the face of a climate crisis - to preserve our natural environment.

Drawing on her experience with Toastmaster's International, Sabrina learnt the art of public speaking and the courage it takes to use your voice. She also learnt that leadership was about showing up, speaking out, and inspiring others to act by creating an environment where everyone felt heard... one where we could grow together.

That's how Own Your Voice Academy was born.
